Md. Kamal Hossain, Benapole (Jashore). Correspondent: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have seized various types of drugs and illegal contraband in separate raids on the border. The raids were conducted in the border areas of Benapole Sadar, ICP, Amrakhali and Andulia BOP on Monday (December 8, 2025).
The BGB said that various types of goods including Indian narcotics Tapentadol tablets, Winserex syrup, sarees, blankets, shawls, chocolates and cosmetics were seized in the raid. The estimated market value of the seized goods is 484,400 taka.
In this regard, Jessore Battalion Commander Lt. Colonel Saifullah Siddiqui said, "As a result of the BGB's long-standing special plan and intelligence activities to prevent drugs and smuggling in the border areas, it is possible to seize various types of smuggled goods, including narcotics, by conducting regular operations." He added that such BGB operations at the border will continue in the future.
