Correspondent: A large amount of smuggled goods has been seized in a BGB operation on the Benapole border.
On Saturday (December 06, 2025), a special patrol team of Jessore Battalion 49 BGB conducted this operation in the border area adjacent to Benapole BOP and ICP.
The BGB said that a large amount of smuggled goods including Indian sarees, blankets, shawls, chocolates, food items and cosmetics were seized in the operation conducted based on secret information. The estimated market value of these seized goods is 6 lakh 9 thousand 350 taka.
Jessore Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Saifullah Siddiqui said in a press briefing that regular intelligence surveillance and operations have been ongoing against active smuggling and drug trafficking gangs in the border area for a long time. As a result of this continuous activity, we are able to regularly seize smuggled goods. Such operations will continue in the future as well.
