Md. Kamal Hossain, Benapole (Jashore) Representative: A huge welcome procession has been organized by Benapole International Land Port Handling Workers Union 925 for the return to his homeland of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.
The port city of Benapole was filled with slogans like 'Tareq Zia is coming, Bangladesh is laughing', 'Leader is coming'.
A huge welcome procession was taken out from in front of the office of Benapole Land Port Handling Workers Union 925 on Wednesday (December 24, 2025) at 10:30 am. The welcome procession circled various important roads of Benapole Land Port and ended at the union office.
The congratulatory procession was led by Md. Shahid Ali, General Secretary of Benapole Land Port Handling Workers Union 925. The workers participating in the procession carried national and party flags and referred to Tarique Rahman's return to the country as a new chapter in the restoration of democracy.
Present at the joyous procession were Benapole Land Port Handling Workers Union 925 Acting President Tabibur Rahman Tobi, General Secretary Shahid Ali, Co-General Secretary Abdul Majid, Co-General Secretary (2) Ziaur Rahman, Organizing Secretary Rafiqul Islam, Co-Organizing Secretary Idris Ali Doctor, Treasurer Sabuj Hossain, Publicity Secretary Omar Faruk, Port Affairs Secretary Abbas Ali, Office Secretary Abul Kashem, Executive Member Kamruzzaman, Ishahak Member, Zulu Member, Lincoln Member, Labor Sardar Hashem Ali and all the leaders and activists of 925 and ordinary workers were present at the event.
Addressing the workers at this time, Union General Secretary Shahid Ali said that Tarique Rahman's return to his homeland after a long time is a message of hope for the democracy-loving people of the country. Under his leadership, the country's democratic movement will gain more momentum. The working people believe that if Tarique Rahman returns to the country, the fair rights and voting rights of the workers will be restored.
He also said that the workers' union will always stand by the movement to establish democracy, justice and the rights of the people.
The joyous procession ended peacefully and the participants expressed their determination to play an active role in the larger democratic movement in the future.
