Md. Kamal Hossain, Benapole (Jashore) Correspondent: A Bangladeshi citizen named Ronal Barua alias Shraban Barua, who was detained in India, returned home through Benapole check post after serving about 1 year in jail through a special travel permit.
On Wednesday (December 24), at 3:30 pm, the Indian police handed him over to the Benapole Immigration Police.
The returning Ronal Barua is the son of Nepal Barua of Padua Police Station in Chittagong district. His BP number is 1225840.
Benapole Immigration OC Sakhawat Hossain said that the returning Ronal Barua was detained by the police while living in that country illegally. After that, India sent him to Bangladesh today through a special travel permit after mediation between the two countries.
Returnee Ronal Barua said that he was there illegally after his passport visa expired. After that, he was detained by the police and returned home today after spending almost a year in jail.
Jessore Rights Area Coordinator Shafiqur Rahman said that the returnee will be kept at their Jessore Shelter Home. Then, he will be handed over after contacting his family.
