Md. Kamal Hossain, Benapole (Jashore) Correspondent: A youth named Biplob Hossain (21) was seriously injured in a cocktail explosion in Mahishakura village of Sharsha upazila of Jessore. The incident occurred around 2 am on Tuesday. The injured Biplob is the son of Mohsin Hossain of Mahishakura village.
According to local sources, Biplob suffered serious injuries and bleeding in various parts of his body after the explosion. He was immediately admitted to Satkhira Medical College Hospital. As his condition deteriorated there, he was transferred to Jessore 250-bed General Hospital around 11 am on Tuesday.
Some locals claim that the injured Biplob's father, Mohsin Hossain, was allegedly involved in making and selling professional cocktails in the area. He is currently in jail in a case. It is believed that Biplob may have been injured in the explosion while moving or taking the cocktails left by his father to another place in the dark of night. However, the truth of these allegations has not been confirmed yet.
Upon receiving the information, the police of the Bagh Anchra Investigation Center visited the scene and collected evidence.
Sharsha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Alim said, "The incident is being investigated in depth. It is believed that this could have happened while he was carrying or making it himself. Even then, it is being investigated how the explosion occurred and whether anyone else was involved. The law and order situation in the area is normal."
Although panic has spread in the area following the incident, the police said the situation is under control.
