Md. Kamal Hossain, Benapole: Former BNP central office secretary and former Sharsha MP Mofiqul Hasan Tripti has urged leaders and activists to refrain from rejoicing after getting the BNP party nomination for Jessore-1 (Sharsha) constituency in the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election.
He made this appeal in a message on social media Facebook shortly after the central BNP announced his name for Jessore-1 (Sharsha) constituency on Monday afternoon.
Tripti said in his message, “I am not your leader, I am your son, brother and relative. The love, trust and sincerity of the people of Sharsha are my source of inspiration. I request all of us to follow the instructions of our national leader Begum Khaleda Zia and BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman. Our main responsibility is to implement the party’s program and ideology under their leadership.”
He further said, “We do not need any jubilation, procession or celebration for getting the party nomination. The real victory will be the day when the symbol of the paddy sheaf wins in the people’s verdict and the voting rights of the people of the country are re-established.”
Expressing his gratitude to the people of Sharsha, Mofiqul Hasan Tripti said, “I got the opportunity to talk to you today by the infinite grace of Almighty Allah – I am grateful for that. I firmly believe that every person of Sharsha will follow the discipline and instructions of the party. We, who were hoping for the nomination, are all soldiers of one party, one ideology and one goal. Our only commitment is to ensure the victory of the paddy sheaf and establish the people’s government.”
It is worth mentioning that from this constituency, Sharsha Upazila BNP Chief Advisor Alhaj Khairuzzaman Madhu, President Abul Hasan Zahir and General Secretary Alhaj Nuruzzaman Liton, along with Mofiqul Hasan Tripti, have been campaigning extensively at the field level. The aim of all of them was to win the party and also to promote and get their own candidacy for the post of Member of Parliament. After working tirelessly and going through ups and downs for a long time, they split into several groups. Finally, as the name of the candidate was revealed in the party announcement, Mofiqul Hasan Tripti expressed his hope that everyone would work shoulder to shoulder to make the paddy sheaf symbol victorious.
