Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Nurul Islam was injured in the stabbing of robbers in Amanura-Chanlai Bypass area of Jhelim Union of Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila.
The incident took place on Tuesday (November 11) at 11 pm.
Injured SI Nurul Islam Amanura was on duty as IC of Police Investigation Centre.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Chapainawabganj Sadar Model Police Station Shahin Akand said that IC Nurul Islam of Amanura Police Investigation Center was seriously injured during regular patrolling and is currently undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. Legal action in this regard is under process.
It is known that there were about twenty robbers at the scene. The robbers cut down the trees on the road and robbed various vehicles, even after beating up SI Nurul, there were reports of robbery at various places on the road till late night.
