Sources have informed that Imran Hossain had been illegally storing banned polythene and supplying it to the retail market for a long time. In the joint operation of the army and district administration, he himself admitted to trading in banned polythene. At that time, upon entering the locked house, two houses were found filled with sacks of various sizes, containing a huge amount of 2500 kg of banned polythene. Later, the Executive Magistrate of the District Administration Md. Badiuzzaman conducted a mobile court and fined the accused Tk 50,000 on the spot. In addition, the mobile court declared the banned polythene unfit for use and handed it over to the Department of Environment.
