Ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections, Naogaon 2 constituency has been busy with election campaigning. BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami leaders and activists are busy winning the hearts of voters.
Field surveys show that Jamaat is far ahead of BNP in the 13th National Parliament election campaign. Local intellectuals and general voters say that this constituency was known as BNP's stronghold. We thought that this time we would see a change in BNP. But in reality, something else has been seen. The current field survey shows that 65 to 70% of voters are attracted to Jamaat. The reason for which is seen in the wrong decision being taken in selecting BNP's candidates.
They also said that we have seen in the past what former BNP MP Shamsujoha Khan was doing when he was in power. We have seen in the past that he has committed human trafficking, recruitment business, tender business, litigation business, extortion, there is no crime that he did not commit while he was an MP in the past. After the Awami government came to power, he stopped the movement on the streets and stayed in Dhaka with his family for 17 years. After the fall of the Awami government, Shamsujoha Khan and his wife Samina Parvin Poli made their debut by extorting, grabbing land, grabbing ponds and providing shelter to Awami League leaders.
Taking advantage of the organizational weakness of the current BNP, starting from the grassroots level to the district level, Jamaat is building a very strong position locally. It is believed that it can benefit from this in the upcoming elections. BNP grassroots workers believe that there is a possibility of losing seats if they cannot properly show the amount of skill and ability required to survive in the election fight against the Jamaat-e-Islami candidate. The Jamaat camp is already excited about Shamsuddoha Khan's name in the primary nomination announced by the center.
Trinamool leaders and activists allege that Jamaat is using its powerful campaign strategy to defeat BNP. They are also highlighting the various weaknesses of BNP candidates to the people of the area. As a result, it is believed that the prominent people, women and youth of the area have turned their backs on all these candidates. And if the campaign of the opposition camp is added to this, the balance will turn in the other direction, say the BNP workers who have been persecuted and oppressed for a long time in the Trinamool.
On the other hand, conscious circles, defectors, prisoners and ordinary voters say that for the last 17 years, when Joha Saheb was staying in the Awami League cell in Dhaka, the party was led by a talented young politician, honest, capable and high-born boy, Alhaj Khwaja Nazibullah Chowdhury. He went to jail several times while trying to take control of the party during the difficult times. We thought that the party would nominate him this time. That is why we have worked with Najibullah Chowdhury, a popular candidate with an educated, elegant, clean image, regardless of party affiliation, for the development of the area. However, due to such a wrong decision by the party, this seat will undoubtedly be lost to BNP.
