A group of leaders and activists have protested by blocking the road demanding change of BNP nomination in Naogaon-2 constituency. They took up a position on the road at Najipur bus stand in Patnitala upazila at 12 noon on Monday (November 17).
The leaders and activists demand that the nomination of potential candidate Shamsujoha Khan should be cancelled in the announced nomination and Nazibullah Chowdhury should be nominated as the party candidate.
According to local sources, there is strong dissatisfaction among Trinamool leaders and activists over the nomination of the potential candidate. In protest, the protest ended with a rally on the road from the Najipur bus stand area. During this, the protesters raised various slogans such as 'We want change of nomination', 'We do not want corrupt extortionist candidates; We want acceptable educated leaders; 'Give value to Trinamool's opinions'.
The leaders and activists participating in the protest said that the party will suffer if the nomination is given ignoring the opinions of the Trinamool. If the people do not want someone to be imposed, the morale of the Trinamool workers will be broken. Therefore, they demanded an urgent reconsideration of the nomination.
