Md. Kamal Hossain Benapole (Jassore) Correspondent: Border Guard Bangladesh BGB has seized ownerless illegal smuggled goods by conducting an operation at the Jessore border.
On Thursday (November 06), a day-long BGB special patrol team, Andulia and Benapole BOP and Benapole ICP conducted an anti-smuggling operation in the border areas and seized Indian sarees, shawls, chocolates, food items, puffs and cosmetics.
The value of the seized goods is 2,79,470/-(two lakh eighty-nine thousand four hundred and seventy) taka.
Lieutenant Colonel Saifullah Siddiqui, commander of Jessore 49 BGB Battalion, said that for a long time, BGB has been conducting intelligence activities and operations in the border area as per its special plan to arrest drug and contraband smuggling gangs.
In continuation of this, Jessore Battalion is able to seize drugs and various types of contraband by conducting regular operations in the border areas under its responsibility.
BGB officials said that such operations of BGB will always continue on the border.
