Md. Kamal Hossain, Benapole (Jesore) Correspondent: A Bangladeshi passport passenger named Deepak Kumar Biswas (55) was detained while going to India through the Benapole land port check post of Jessore as he was on a stop list by the immigration police. The arrested Deepak Kumar Biswas is the son of deceased Dulal Chandra Biswas of Srikal village of Sreepur upazila of Magura district.
On Monday (November 10, 2025) around 5:40 pm, he arrived at the Benapole immigration check post along with his wife and daughter to go to India for medical treatment. The on-duty policemen detained him for questioning when his name was found on the stop-list on the immigration server during passport verification.
According to immigration sources, there is a case against Deepak Kumar Biswas in Magura Sadar police station. Case No-10, Date: 10-10-2024, GR No-392. The case was filed under Sections 143/342/323/326/307/302/114 of the Explosives Act, 1908.
Later, the immigration authorities handed him over to the Benapole Port police station after legal proceedings.
Manik Kumar Saha, Officer-in-Charge (Sub-Inspector) of Benapole Port Police Station confirmed the truth of the incident and said that legal action is being taken against the detained person. He will be handed over to Magura Sadar police station as there is a case against him.
