53 BGB members conducted a raid in Shibganj, Chapainawabganj and recovered 4,700 pieces of Indian Tapentadol tablets. The market value of which is about 5 lakh taka. Manaksha BOP members conducted the raid yesterday, Wednesday morning and recovered a large quantity of Indian narcotic tablets. According to the BGB, information was received that narcotic tablets were being smuggled through Gopalpur village of Manaksha Union of Shibganj Upazila. Based on this information, a patrol team of Manaksha BOP saw two suspicious people coming on a motorcycle at around 7 am and signaled them to stop, and at that time they left the motorcycle on the side of the road and fled. Later, the patrol team recovered the Indian Tapentadol tablets from the bag in the motorcycle. Although the tablets are originally a painkiller, they are currently being widely used as narcotic tablets and have increased in various places in Chapainawabganj district in recent times. The recovered tablets and motorcycle have been submitted to the Chapainawabganj Customs Office. Confirming the truth, 53 BGB commander Lieutenant Colonel Kazi Mustafizur Rahman said that BGB members are always on alert to prevent any kind of illegal activities in the border area under the responsibility of the battalion and patrolling activities have been strengthened.
