A human chain was held in Chapainawabganj to implement 5-point demands including the demand for a referendum by including the PR system in the July National Charter. The program was organized by the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Chapainawabganj district branch in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office on Wednesday morning.
Jamaat Central Working Committee member and Rajshahi Region Assistant Director Professor Rafiqul Islam, Central Working Committee member and former Mayor Md. Nazrul Islam, Municipal Jamaat Ameer Hafez Golam Rabbani, Central Majlish-e-Shura member and former MP Professor Latifur Rahman, District Nayeb-e-Ameer and former Upazila Chairman Professor Mokhlesur Rahman, Sadar Upazila Ameer Hafez Abdul Alim, District Jamaat Secretary Professor Maulana Abu Bakar and leaders and workers of various party organizations.
The speakers said that the provisions of the July National Charter must be implemented to resolve the current political crisis and establish a fair democracy. They strongly demanded the implementation of Jamaat's 5-point demands to restore the people's voting rights through a referendum through the PR method and to establish a just society and good governance by building a national consensus.
