Yesterday, June 2, a smart operation team of Cox's Bazar RAB-15 (CPC-1) Teknaf Camp conducted a raid in the Dakshin Godar Beel area of Teknaf Sadar UP based on secret information and rescued Md. Jahangir Alam (14), son of Md. Islam, who was missing from Sabrang Nayapara, and arrested the kidnapper Md. Yunus (32), son of the deceased Oli Ahmed of Panchhari Para.
When the victim went missing on June 1, the family filed a missing person's diary with the police station. Based on this, RAB members conducted a raid and rescued the victim and were able to arrest the kidnapper.
The arrested accused told during interrogation that the accused and his accomplices kidnapped the victim for the purpose of human trafficking abroad.
In this context, Teknaf Model Police Station Case No. 09, dated 03 June 2025, under Section 7/8/10 of the Prevention and Suppression of Human Trafficking Act 2012 was registered against the arrested accused and his accomplices.
Cox's Bazar RAB-15 Assistant Director (Law and Media Officer) Assistant Superintendent of Police A.M. Faruk said that the arrested accused and the victim have been handed over to the concerned police station for legal proceedings.
