A smart operation team of CPC-1, Chapainawabganj Camp, RAB-5, Rajshahi conducted an anti-drug operation in Chikna Dangapara village area under Godagari police station of Rajshahi district on 22 May 2025 at 07:00 am and arrested 1. Abir Murmu (21), father-Latoya Murmu, mother-Duli Rani, resident of Sang-Babuding Picnic Corner, Police Station-Chapainawabganj Sadar, 2. Shri Anand Karmakar (20), father-Srat Karmakar, mother-Smriti Dulia, Sang-Rahanpur Nungola, Thana-Gomastapur, both districts-Chapainawabganj were arrested red-handed with 1205 liters of liquor and various materials used in the preparation of liquor. They had been preparing liquor for a long time and supplying it to different areas.
During interrogation of the accused in front of the witnesses present, it was revealed that they had confessed to having kept illegal narcotics in their possession for the purpose of selling liquor in collusion with each other. During local interrogation, it was further revealed that the arrested accused had been illegally producing liquor in a unique way at the spot for a long time in secret and selling it to various drug users in the Godagari police station area.
During the initial interrogation, the two accused were questioned about the seized illegal narcotics, Cholai Mad, and confessed that they had kept them in their possession for the purpose of selling them.
A case has been registered at Godagari Police Station in Rajshahi district in the above incident.
