Chapainawabganj District Police have arrested 13 leaders and activists of the Awami League in Chapainawabganj.
Chapainawabganj Police conducted a special drive in different places of the district late on Friday (May 9) night and arrested 13 leaders and activists.
4 people have been arrested in Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila. The arrested persons are, Aminul Islam, son of Hadi Aynal Mandal of Gobaratla Union, Sadar Upazila, Vice President of Chapainawabganj District Awami League, Mohammad Azizul Islam, son of the late Moazzem Hossain, former President of Gobaratla Union Awami League, Md. Abul Bashar, son of the late Muntaj Mandal, General Secretary of Bargharia Union Awami League, Md. Nurul Huda, son of the late Sateman Mandal of Maharajpur village, General Secretary of Sadar Upazila Tanti League. 4 people have been arrested in Nachol Upazila. The arrested persons are Nachol Upazila Awami League Vice President Md. Nazrul Islam (57), Nachol Upazila Awami League Vice President Nitai Chandra Barman (58), Nachol Upazila Awami League Office Secretary Md. Rafiqul Islam (50), Nachol Upazila active Awami League worker Md. Babul Haque. This information was confirmed by Nachol Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Monirul Islam.
2 people have been arrested in Shibganj Upazila. The arrested persons are Chakkirti Union Awami League former President Md. Yusuf Ali Master (55), Chakkirti Union Chhatra League former President Md.
