Three representatives of the Swiss Embassy visited various activities of the Citizen Platform of the ASTA Project in Chapainawabganj. The meeting of the Citizen Platform was attended by the Deputy Head of Cooperation of the Swiss Embassy, Corinne Thevz, Program Manager Sabina Yasmin Lubna, Constance de Planta Junior Program Officer, Sanjida Lipi Executive Director Democracy Watch and Rabeya Basri Program Coordinator, Transformation.
On Sunday morning, the activation meeting of the Citizen Platform of the ASTA Project was held at the District Press Club under the chairmanship of Lecturer Shah Alam for the implementation of Democracy Watch. Cluster Coordinators of Clusters 3 and 4, Monitoring and Reporting Coordinator and Finance Admin Coordinator were also present. Also present were the District Coordinator of Chapainawabganj District, SF O and members of the Citizen Platform. The meeting discussed democratic practices, social harmony, mentoring strategies for the Youth Forum, sensitivity of the indigenous people, communication with various government departments, how the next elections would look like, participation of all parties in the elections, etc. Moreover, the representatives of the Swiss Embassy wanted to know about various issues from the Citizen Platform.
Moreover, a courtyard meeting was held in the Mahanail Jam Para Adabasi village of Ward No. 3 of Nachol Sadar Union of Nachol Upazila. The Executive Director of Democracy Watch, officials of the Swiss Embassy and representatives of the Transformation were present in the meeting. The courtyard meeting discussed various issues such as the quality of life of the indigenous people, violence, voting rights, trust activities, etc. and to the members of the Youth Forum.
