Kurigram District BNP has approved the partial convening committee of Ulipur Upazila and Municipal BNP. The approval of the 21-member Upazila Committee and the 25-member Municipal Committee was given through a notification.
Md. Tariq Abul Ala Chowdhury has been nominated as the convener and Md. Haider Ali Mia as the member secretary in the Upazila Committee. This approval was given in a notification signed by District BNP Convener Md. Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa and Member Secretary Alhaj Sohel Hosnain Kaikobad.
The joint conveners of the Upazila Committee are:
Obaidur Rahman Bulbul, Abdur Rashid Sarkar, Advocate Fakrul Islam, Aminul Islam Fulu, Abed Ali Sarkar, Abul Kalam Azad Khoka, Mohsin Ali, Ershadul Habib Nayan and Ramesh Saha.
The members are:
Advocate Nuruzzaman Sarkar, Nuruzzaman Bachchu, Mizanur Rahman, Rakshed Ali Amin (Labu), Saiful Islam Badal, Shamsul Huda Swapan, Shahidur Rahman, Mustafizur Rahman, Engineer Golam Murtaza Mukul and Anwarul Islam Khoka.
On the other hand, Nur Muhammad has been nominated as the convener and Assistant Professor Solaiman Ali Sarkar as the member secretary in the 25-member partial convening committee of Ulipur Municipality BNP.
The joint conveners of the municipal committee are:
Azizar Rahman Master, Dr. Iftekharul Islam, Teacher Ehsanul Karim, Sirajul Islam Saju, Lecturer Abdur Razzak, Zamindar Roy Sarkar (Councilor), Khorshed Ali, Matlubur Rahman Manju and Md. Mujibur Rahman.
The members are:
Md. Nazrul Islam, Md. Kamruzzaman Sarkar Milon, Md. Ataur Rahman Rebel, Md. Shahjahan Ali, Md. Abdur Rafiq, Md. Aslam Uddin Ahmed, Md. Ismail Hossain, Md. Nurullah, Md. Matiar Rahman, Ishaq Ali, Md. Rafiqul Islam, Fazlul Karim and Aminul Islam.
According to district BNP sources, these two newly formed committees are expected to make Ulipur upazila politics more well-organized and dynamic.
In this regard, Tajbirul Islam, one of the leaders of Ulipur upazila BNP, said,
“My challenge is that the committees that will be formed at the union and ward levels in the future should be made up of honest, sincere and skilled workers. We want the party activities to be stronger and more acceptable.”
In addition, a copy of the approved committee has been sent to the party Secretary General, Senior Joint Secretary General, Rangpur Divisional Organizing Secretary and other relevant departments.
