An operation team of Chapainawabganj Camp, RAB-5, Rajshahi conducted a raid in the Barogharia area under Sadar Police Station of Chapainawabganj district on 06 May 2025 at 10:30 pm based on intelligence information and arrested the 1st accused in the rape case, Md. Shakib Ali (24), father-Md. Rabiul Islam, resident-Badurtala Barogharia, Police Station-Chapainawabganj Sadar, District-Chapainawabganj.
It is to be noted that the arrested accused developed a love relationship with the victim, Md. Salma Khatun (20). During their long-term love relationship, the arrested accused had physical relations with the victim several times by tempting her to marry him and the accused kept the said picture on his mobile phone. The victim and the accused had been in a long-term love and physical relationship, and when the victim proposed marriage to the accused, the accused started arguing with the victim. At one stage, when the victim pressured the accused for marriage, the accused threatened to spread the nude photos captured on her mobile phone on social media. Later, the victim filed a rape case against the arrested accused at Sadar Police Station on 06 May 2025. A smart RAB operation team conducted a raid in Barogharia area under Sadar Police Station of Chapainawabganj district and arrested the accused.
The accused arrested in the above incident has been handed over to Sadar Police Station of Chapainawabganj district.
