A protest march and road meeting were held in Ulipur, Kurigram against the rehabilitation of the fascist Awami League and its allies and demanding the trial of the student mob killers.
On Sunday (April 27) afternoon, a protest march organized by the Upazila BNP left the petrol pump and circled the main roads of the city. Later, a road meeting was held at Masjidul Huda intersection.
At the road meeting, former GS of Rangpur Polytechnic Institute Firoz Kabir Kajal said that the police are arresting and harassing ordinary people from rural areas. However, cadres holding party positions of the fascist Awami League are roaming openly in Ulipur city and various educational institutions. But the police are not arresting them. This is being done dishonestly with the blood of the student mob. If any attempt is made to rehabilitate the fascist Awami League and its allies, strict programs will be announced.
Kurigram District Krishak Dal Joint Convener and former student leader Abu Jafar Sohel Rana said, "In July last year, the fascist Sheikh Hasina fled to India during the BNP and Chhatra Janata movement. Many mothers lost their children in the movement. Many brothers and sisters are still suffering in the hospital with injuries. 14,000 students were martyred in the movement, we will not let their blood go in vain." He also said, "Even though the corrupt party office-bearers of the fascist Awami League are roaming around openly in Ulipur, they are not being arrested. We demand the immediate arrest and trial of the fascist Awami League and its associates who killed the students. False cases have been filed in our name and houses have been burnt down. We want justice for this."
