A man named Dhailla died after a few years old mango tree fell in the Nayapara area of Teknaf, Cox's Bazar border upazila.
The incident took place in front of the Nayapara Government Primary School in Sabrang Union on Friday (April 25) morning.
This information was confirmed by Abul Fayez, UP member of Nayapara Ward No. 6 area of Sabrang.
The deceased is Dhailla Mia (40), a resident of Nayapara Ward No. 3 area of Sabrang Union.
Local UP member Abul Fayez said that two people were sitting under the tree in the shade as the mango tree grew tall when the tree suddenly fell. However, although one of them was unharmed at the time, the tree fell on the other Dhailla and he was bleeding.
He further said that locals later rescued Dhailla Mia from the scene in a bloody state and took him to Teknaf Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
