A goat trader was killed in an attack by miscreants in Dhamairhat, Naogaon. Goat trader Ujjal Hossain was attacked by miscreants on his way home from Baratha Bazar at around 9:30 pm on April 24. Immediately after the attack, locals took him to Patnitala Health Complex and the duty doctor of the emergency department declared Md. Ujjal Hossain (30), son of Saidul Islam of Banshibati village, dead. Locals saw him in Baratha Bazar after evening and said that he used to trade goats in various villages and markets.
Eyewitnesses said that after 9 pm, Zahid Hasan, a local motorcycle rider, saw Ujjal lying in a bloody state in the Shimultali area on his way to his home from Baratha Bazar under Aranagar Union. At that time, a van arrived there and rescued the injured Ujjal. He was first taken to Baratha Bazar and then to Patnitala Health Complex, where the doctor declared him dead. The deceased Ujjal Hossain is the father of 1 son and 1 daughter, and his wife Shakila is distraught after losing her husband. However, Ujjal Hossain's mother Nasima and elder uncle Zaidul Islam said that they are preparing for the case.
The police station has inspected the scene and sent the body to the morgue for autopsy, said Patnitala Police Station OC Shah Md. Enayetur Rahman. However, the suspect Arif Hossain and two people named Sagar have been brought to the police station for questioning, said Abdur Rahim, Police Inspector (Investigation) of Dhamairhat Police Station.
