World Autism Day was celebrated in Chapainawabganj with the theme 'Welcome Neurological Diversity, Build a Sustainable Society'. On Tuesday morning, a colorful rally was taken out in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office at the initiative of the District Administration and Social Services Department. After circumambulating the main roads of the city, the rally ended at the Deputy Commissioner's office.
Later, Acting Deputy Commissioner Ujjwal Kumar Ghosh spoke as the chief guest at the discussion meeting held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office. The chief guest said that the government is working for the welfare of people with disabilities, including autism. At this time, he called on everyone to stand by those with special needs.
The meeting, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Md. Iktekharul Islam, among others, spoke - Civil Surgeon Representative Dr. A.K.M. Sahab Uddin, District Disability Affairs Officer Md. Shariatullah, Headmaster of Chapainawabganj Swed Bangladesh Intellectually Handicapped School, Md. Ambia Khatun Mili, among others. The program was moderated by Social Service Officer (Regd.) Md. Firoz Kabir of the District Social Service Department.
In addition, people from different classes and professions, students of the school for the disabled, journalists and social workers were present at the discussion meeting.
