On 16 April 2025, at 09:45 am, an operation team of CPC-1, Chapainawabganj Camp, RAB-5, Rajshahi, based on intelligence information, conducted a raid inside the playground on the east side of Barendra Alim Madrasa under Srimantapur Union of Niamatpur Police Station of Naogaon District and arrested 1. Md. Masud Rana (40), father-Md. Manjur Rahman, mother-Mosa: Mabiya Begum, Sang-Gopalpur, 2. Md. Tariqul Islam (32), father-deceased Maqbul Hossain, mother-Jhumera Begum, Sang-Shyampur, both police stations-Shibganj, District-Chapainawabganj.
Based on intelligence information, it is known that a large consignment of drugs will be supplied at the mentioned time. After receiving the said information, the RAB's operational team increased surveillance on the possible routes of drugs as per the previous plan and during the operation by going to the said place, the above accused were arrested along with 120 bottles of Phensidyl while transporting drugs.
A regular case has been registered at Niamatpur Police Station of Naogaon district in the above incident.
