In front of Chowdhury Para Angsuk Buddhist Vihar in Hnila Union of Teknaf, Hnila Union of Cox's Bazar, Teknaf Model Police Station Mobile Team-77 stopped a CNG vehicle from Rangikhali to Minabazar for routine search while on night duty.
The bullets were recovered during a search of a CNG vehicle at 12:30 am on April 11. The arrested persons are Md. Selim (37), son of deceased Hoshon Ali of Jhimangkhali village of Minabazar in Hoaikyung Union, and Razia Akhter Putuni (30), daughter of Haider Ali. They are husband and wife.
Teknaf Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Muhammad Gias Uddin said that under his leadership, under the overall direction of Cox's Bazar District Police Superintendent Md. Saifuddin Shahin, Teknaf Model Police Station Mobile Team-77, accompanied by ASI (Unarmed) Mujibur Rahman, stopped and searched the CNG (Reg. No. Cox's Bazar Th 11-7576) while on night duty. At that time, during the search and interrogation of the CNG passengers, two of them admitted that they had bullets. Later, 10 rounds each in their custody, a total of 20 rounds of bullets were seized. At one stage of the interrogation, the arrested accused also confessed that they were collecting the recovered evidence (20) rounds of bullets from the absconding accused "Robi Alam" and taking them to another place with the intention of delivering them. A case (No. 38, dated 12/04/2025) has been registered with Teknaf Model Police Station in this regard, said OC Muhammad Gias Uddin.
