Police arrested Chhatra League leader Abu Salman Pradhan, son of former Panchagarh-1 MP Mazharul Haque Pradhan, in Operation Devil Hunt operation.
On Tuesday (March 4), the Detective Branch (DB) arrested him from Maqbular Rahman Government College Road in the district town.
Panchagarh Superintendent of Police (SP) Mizanur Rahman Munshi confirmed the arrest.
The arrested Abu Salman Pradhan is the former vice-president of the central Chhatra League. He is also one of the active members of the online platform 'Joy Bangla Brigade'.
According to the police, former Chhatra League leader Abu Salman Pradhan had been spreading rumors and misleading information about various programs in favor of the Awami League for a long time by opening IDs under different pseudonyms on the social media Facebook. He is also known as an active member of the 'Joy Bangla Zoom Brigade' and was involved in various promotional activities on social media. After law enforcement agencies put him under surveillance for his activities, DB police conducted a raid and arrested him.
